§ 9-23. Declarations of local open burning emergencies.

  • The director of emergency services may, upon recommendation of the local forest warden appointed pursuant to § 10-1135, if the forestlands, brushlands and fields within the county have become so dry as to create a serious fire hazard endangering lives and property within the county, declare a open burning emergency and prohibit any person from engaging in any open burning until the emergency has terminated, provided, however, such declaration shall be subject to ratification by the board of supervisors at its next regularly scheduled meeting.
